ASINARA

Per la sua conformazione naturale l’isola, estesa in lunghezza per circa 17 chilometri, assume una forma simile ad un arco, quasi a proteggere il tratto di mare compreso, formando l’omonimo golfo. Le rocce talvolta a picco sul mare, talvolta rade, modellano un contorno frastagliato dando origine a calette e insenature dove l’acqua cristallina si infiltra facilmente e crea uno scenario di incomparabile bellezza. La folta macchia mediterranea, i ginepri e i lecci che spiccano su tratti di verdi prati, la presenza dei tipici asini bianchi e delle oltre cinquanta specie di uccelli, offrono un patrimonio ancora incontaminato. L’isola dell’Asinara rappresenta la Sardegna più remota e selvaggia e nel suo golfo, a poca distanza, guarda innanzi a sé le sue perle incastonate nel tratto di costa nord della Sardegna: Stintino, Porto Torres, Sorso e Castelsardo, che nella loro varietà alternano arenili con sabbia bianca finissima a calette contornate da rade rocciose. Attualmente l’Asinara è divenuta Parco Nazionale ed è finalmente possibile, almeno nella stagione estiva, ammirare in tutto il suo splendore l’immenso patrimonio naturale unico ed inesplorato di inestimabile valore internazionale.

For its natural conformation the island, about 17 km long, takes the shape of a bow, as if it would protect the stretch of the sea around, which creates the homonymous Gulf. Sheers dropping from the cliff to the sea and plate rocks mould the jagged coastline where crystal clear waters seep into coves and inlets of incomparable beauty. The thick Mediterranean vegetation, the junipers and the holm-oaks, the presence of the typical white donkeys and more than 50 birds species, offer a still pure heritage of wildlife. The Island Asinara is the wildest and remotest part of Sardinia . The Asinara Gulf give shelter to the renowned tourist towns of Stintino, Porto Torres, Sorso and Castelsardo, with their white sandy beaches and creeks surrounded by rocky roadsteads. Nowadays Asinara has become Natural Park and it is finally possible to admire its great natural heritage, unique all over the world.
